Basically, I love food, eating and coffee. I struggle to not buy coffee every day; my favourite outing is one that involves stuffing my mouth and I am a sucker for all things sweet (yet still tell myself I can refrain from indulging).
But these are things you've heard before if you read my main page. Perhaps some things you didn't know:
First of all, I moved to Sydney from the mid-north coast town of Port Macquarie in February, 2011. I did know a bit about Sydney before moving here, having lived on the outskirts (in Helensburgh) until 2002, and am quite familiar with the Sutherland Shire. However, there is a LOT I am yet to discover about this city and the world in general- and yes, I am mainly referring to cafes and restaurants. Discovering suburbs and places through eating out is something I have developed a penchant for.
I am studying a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, majoring in Journalism at the University of Technology, Sydney, and am absolutely in love with my degree! I do spend most nights sitting at my desk, procrastinating and only just holding back from pulling my hair out. Journalism is tough.
And sure, I may not yet know what I want to do with the piece of paper I'll get at the end of next year, but I'm having fun working--and eating--it out.
With this blog I hope to make accessible to both foodies and non-foodies the opinion of a journalism student who has a lot to say about food (but no qualifications) on various restaurants and cafes in Australia, and eventually the rest of the world. Well hopefully.
I am quite picky when it comes to eating out and wasting my money on an experience that lasts only an hour or so. When choosing restaurants to visit, I sometimes find myself trawling the internet for others' opinions on where to eat. Eatability is good. But others' blogs are better.
I hope this blog may one day be of help to others in the same way.
